Bike Shop -- Round 2

Work on the bike shop continues. I cleaned up the basement...moved all our boxes of crap into the corner and vacuumed up all the spider webs with my new Shop Vac (thanks Dad!). Then I put down all my carpet remnants over the concrete floor and installed some lighting.

I am currently finalizing plans for the workbench construction. The countertop in the picture will provide a nice, solid top for it.

The league president for the hockey league sent out a spreadsheet with the final regular season standings and player stats. Team Gray finished in 2nd place, only 1 point behind Team Blue. I ended up 6th overall in the league for total points scored out of 95 skaters. I was also the only player in the top 10 for scoring that didn't commit a single penalty. The regular season spreadsheet can be viewed here.

On to St Louis!

Quick recap of this weekend's festivities:

- The Sioux beat Michigan and Minnesota (in OT) to advance to the Frozen Four in St Louis. I will be there to cheer them on! :)

- Andy came to visit, and we went on a nice little ride in the gentle rolling hills around SP.

- I worked more on my basement bike shop. I will post pics of the progress shortly.

- Team Gray beat the 3rd place Team Black last night, 5-3, in the last regular season game. I got one of the goals. Playoffs start next weekend.

The Adventure Begins

What a crazy last couple of days. Heather and I rented a UHaul this weekend and moved all of our crap to our new house. So now we have an extremely cluttered house. Boxes of stuff all over the place. The moving was alot of work, but we finished it off. Heather is such a trooper. Quite chiseled for a girl.

Charter Comm. came today to hook up the phone/cable/internet. We currently have a new phone number, but it may get switched back to our old one. We'll find out in the next day or two.

Vontoux loves his new fenced in backyard. It's like his own private dogpark.

Team Gray took on Team Green this past Sunday, and came out victorious once again, winning 6-3. I felt crappy the first 2 periods, but started skating better in the 3rd and picked up a goal and an assist. Next Sunday is the last league game before playoffs start.

Here's a picture of my basement bikeshop area. It's currently in a state of disarray, but that will gradually get remedied in the next few weeks.

Momentary Lapse of Reason

Another busy weekend here. Dad, Danette, and Tonia (what a trooper--two weekends in a row!) came to visit and help with the house. It was a short visit, but very productive. We got all the tile grouting done, all three toilets reinstalled, the office painted, the master bedroom and bathroom primed, fixed the garage door opener, and got some of the dining room wallpaper removed. And the fridge was delivered. The house is already looking WAY better than when we first started working on it. That's cool. Heather should be getting pics posted on her blog shortly.

Brooks and I went to Menards this week and picked up stuff for our basement bike shops. We both got some countertop and a nice cabinet. I have some plans printed out for my new bike shop workbench. That project will have to wait until after the move is complete though. I will keep you updated with the progress of that...

Heather and Mary made it back from FL in one piece. They had a good time visiting Susan and Mary's grandma for the week. Vontoux isn't as happy now though, because he doesn't get to sleep on the bed with me anymore. :)

I was right in predicting that Team Gray would be just fine without me last week...they won 8-4 against Team Orange. Last night we took on Team White and won 8-6 in a fun, back and forth game. I had a goal and an assist. Only a couple more games now before the playoffs begin.

Living the Bachelor Lifestyle

Hello everyone. This past weekend was a busy one, as Tonia and Trent came to visit and do some tiling at the new house. It was a productive weekend, as Heather described in her latest blog. Big thanks to T&T for all the help and for driving up! Now Heather is in Florida with Mary until Sunday for a little vacation.

This is what happens to me when Heather leaves town:

It's very hectic with all the ladies. :)

The North American Hand Made Bicycle Show is going on right now in CA...there are some stunning bikes on display, including this lugged IF track bike:

My week will be a busy one, as I try to get done with some stuff at the new house. The move-in date is fast approaching! Brooks came with me last night when I bought a Craftsman miter saw. Should be good for cutting all the baseboard and for building my workbench.

I missed my first league game of the season on Sunday. Heather and I, T&T, and M&B all went to the Cirque du Soleil show at the Kohl Center. I'm guessing that Team Gray did just fine without me. :)
